MAKE MORE MARGIN AND ENSURE YOUR END USER IS GDPR COMPLIANT

By Julian Bannister
How many years has your end user been disposing of redundant IT equipment without thinking about residual values in the equipment? Do they even think about data compliancy? With the adaptation of GDPR regulations, there has never been a better time to re-evaluate how your end user disposes of their equipment. Make more margin and ensure your end user is GDPR compliant.
More work for the same deal?
Not necessarily so, some VARs don’t want to get involved in asset disposal as it adds a layer of complexity to the deal which they believe holds very little financial return and high levels or risk. If you are working with the right partner, this is not the case.
Music to the ears of sales people
There are two strong messages around this. Firstly, the trade in value gives you the ability to reduce the total cost of the new solution you are providing to the end user. This trade in value either provides you with margin within the deal and the competitive edge over another partner not offering such a solution, or in turn gives you additional margin in the deal itself. The ability to increase your chances of winning an opportunity or increasing margins in a deal is music to the ears of most sales people!
The second reason for positioning this is that your end user must dispose of the equipment in a legal and compliant manner, and if you aren’t offering this service, somebody else is! This opens the door for your competitors. As Procurri is a channel focussed business, our goal is to help our partners increase margins and add services which help them increase wallet share while keeping the competition out.
So, what should you look for in an asset recovery partner?
·         Are they ISO9001,14001 and 27001 compliant?
·         Do they use secure rigid sided vehicles with GPS tracking and other security features?
·         Is the equipment contained in a secure caged environment under CCTV until all data is erased?
·         Is the software erasure process compliant to CESG standards?
·         Are they a member of ADISA (Asset Disposal of Information and Security Alliance?)
·         Do they fully understand the residual value in the hardware itself?
Procurri is compliant with all the above and due to some of Procurri’s other service offerings such as third-party maintenance support, we constantly buy back redundant hardware and offer the best financial returns in the industry. This allows our partners to retain margin in the process.
Our global footprint has over 160,000 square foot of warehouse facility and over 550,000 devices with more than 100 product specialists, so we can cater for even the largest ITAD projects. More importantly, you can rely on Procurri to ensure you have a channel partner that you can trust with secure data for complete piece of mind.
